Privacy policy

This page explains which personal data is processed when you visit this website, for what purpose and for how long. It is based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). The German version prevails.
Hosting and server logs
The website is hosted by FSIT (fsit.ch) on servers in Switzerland. FSIT processes the data on my behalf.
With every request the server stores technical data: IP address, date and time, requested address, status code, amount of data transferred, the previously visited page, and browser and operating system. This is needed to deliver the website, find errors and fend off attacks. The data is not combined with other data and is deleted after the hosting provider’s retention period.
Contact form and email
When you write to me via the form or by email, I process your name, email address, message and the time, in order to answer your request.
The form sends the message through FSIT’s mail server to kontakt@adambaranyi.xyz. This address forwards to my Apple iCloud mailbox. Apple processes data in Ireland and the USA, relying on standard contractual clauses for the USA.
To detect automated submissions, the form contains an invisible field and checks how quickly it was filled in. In addition, the server counts for one hour how many messages come from one connection; it only stores a hash of the IP address for this. No third-party services are used.
I keep messages for as long as needed for your request and any resulting collaboration.
No cookies, no analytics, no third-party content
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking services. Only if you choose the light or the dark theme with “House lights” at the top does your browser remember this choice in its local storage (entry “theme”). It never leaves your browser.
The font, images and code are served from the same server as the website. No data is sent to third parties when you visit.
Links to other websites
The website links to GitHub, LinkedIn, the demos of Tallyroom and Evidarium, KI-Inventar on its own address (ki-inventar.adambaranyi.xyz) and the demos of four projects from my training. You only reach them when you click a link; their own privacy policies apply there.
Security
The connection to the website is encrypted with HTTPS.
Your rights
You can request information about your personal data, have incorrect data corrected and have data deleted unless it must be kept. Write to kontakt@adambaranyi.xyz.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Changes
I update this policy when the website changes. The version published here applies. If the German and English versions differ, the German version prevails.
